Information document on Legislative decree 196/2003
("Code for the protection of personal data").

In accordance with the commitment and care RCS MediaGroup S.p.A devote to personal data protection, this document provides details of the methods, purposes and extent of the communication and diffusion of your personal data and your rights, in compliance with the provisions of Section 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003.

In order to offer you the personalised services provided by our websites, RCS MediaGroup S.p.A as the Data Processor must be able to process certain identity data required for the provision of said service.

Browsing data

Software procedures and the IT system set up to run websites acquire as part of their routine operation certain data, the transmission of which is an intrinsic part of Internet communication protocol usage.
This information is not collected in order to be associated with identified interested parties, but could, by its very nature, through processing and association with data held by the owner or third parties, allow users to be identified.
This category of data includes IP addresses and the dominion names of computers used by anyone connecting to a website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of resources requested, the time the request was made, the method used to send the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and the IT environment of the user.

The data that can be obtained from browsing may be used – subject to appropriate and explicit consent – to interpret the user’s preferences and carry out web analytics activities in order to evaluate the profitability of online activities and to understand the behaviour of the user for purposes of improving the services provided and offering more suitable content, after having expressed his or her consent, although he or she has the right to refuse to allow his or her data to be processed in this way at any time and at no expense.

This data may be used by the Owner for the sole purpose of deriving anonymous statistical information on the use of the website in order to identify the user’s favourite pages and continue to provide the most suitable content and to check that it is operating correctly. The data may also be used to establish responsibility in the event of cyber crimes that are damaging the website.

Cookies

A cookie is a small string of data sent to the user’s browser and stored on the hard disk of the user’s computer. It facilitates browsing and makes the website easier to use.

Cookies may be used to determine whether a connection has been made between your computer and our pages. Only cookies stored on your computer are identified.

It is of course also possible to visit a website without cookies. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. Automatic sttorage of cookies can be stopped by choosing the appropriate "do not allow cookies" option. For further information on how to do this see your browser’s instructions. It is possible to remove cookies stored on your hard disk at any time. However, if you do decide to decline cookies on your browser you many not be able to fully experience all the features of our website.

Personal data

The personal data that you provide will be recorded and stored on protected electronic systems and processed using suitable security procedures including associating and combining them with other databases.
The data and cookies received from you will be processed by RCS MediaGroup S.p.A exclusively with the procedures needed to provide you with the services you have requested.
The data will not be published but may be communicated, where necessary for the provision of the service, to companies in the RCS Mediagroup, and to companies who carry out tasks of a technical or organisational nature on our behalf that are instrumental in providing the services requested.
Only with your express consent may the data be used to carry out statistical analyses, market research or to forward commercial information regarding the products and promotional schemes of RCS MediaGroup S.p.A and/or third parties.

In addition, and again with your explicit consent, this data may be supplied to other firms operating in the fields of publishing, finance, car insurance, large-scale retail, humanitarian and charity work, which may contact you as the heads of independent initiatives (the complete list is available to you and may be requested from the head of data processing at the address given below) for statistical analyses, market research and to forward commercial information regarding the products and promotional schemes.

Subsequent to the registration required for the requested service, should you request/wish to access other services provided by the company or by other companies as indicated above (RCS MediaGroup S.p.A or associated companies and subsidiaries), you will be able to use the credentials (user name/e-mail/ password) used for the original registration.
If necessary, you may be required to provide further information in order to receive the additional services requested.
You may re-consult the information document at any time and if necessary modify the consent you originally gave, check/alter the status of services currently being supplied and request additional services.

The provision of data is optional except for those specified as obligatory in order to access the services on offer. You have the right to check on the current status of your data and how they are being used, at any time. You also have the right to update them, add to them, rectify them or cancel them, request that they be blocked or refuse to allow them to be processed. These rights are outlined in Section 7 of Legislative Decree 196/2003.
